Robert Grudzien studied at the Music Academy in Lodz and at the Music College in Duesseldorf with professor Mirolaw Pietkiewicz and Christof Schoerner (organ), Kajetan Mochtak (piano), and Werner Smigelski (harpsichord). He took part in master classes taught by Daniel Roth, Hans Haselboeck, Lionel Rogg, and Guy Bovet. He has performed intensively in Poland and abroad in Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, France, Japan, Switzerland, Russia, Spain, USA and others, and has worked with such chamber soloists such as Teresa Zylis-Gara, Wieslaw Ochman, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka.
Robert Grudzien has made numerous recordings for radio and TV stations as well as CD recordings. In 1990 he received a special award from the Committee for Polish Radio and TV. Since 1988 he has been Director of the International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music in Radom-Oronsko. For his activity in the sphere of cultural development he has been awarded many prizes and diplomas from Radom and Reszow authorities, the Mayor of Radom, and the Polish Ministry of Culture. He has been given the title of Honorary Citizen of many Polish cities.
His latest great success was his participation in a cycle of concerts in 2004 and 2005 with the Philharmonic Orchestra in Lodz under the baton of the renowned Polish composer and conductor, Krzysztof Penderecki.
Mr. Grudzien is also enthusiastically engaged in the restoration of old organs, and often serves as consultant on projects involving the installation of new instruments.
