The Akademos Quartet engages in artistic projects throughout
the province of
Silesia.
Since 1997 until 2005, the ensemble hosts and is the principal performer
of a cycle of chamber concerts taking place in the palace of the former
district council (now a branch of the Upper Silesia Museum in Bytom). In
2006, this enterprise took the shape of a cycle called "Salony muzyczne
Slaska" ("The Music Salons of Silesia") and is now delivering chamber
music masterworks in the most beautiful interiors of palaces and museums
in the province of Silesia. The 2006/2007 season of "The Music Salons of
Silesia” was inaugurated with a new project entitled “Not for Elise,”
with its aim of introducing the complete Beethoven quartets juxtaposed
with exceptional works of the twentieth century.

During the summer season, the Quartet is the main performer
at the monographic Chamber Music Masterworks Festivals. The 2006 edition
dealt with the presentation of chamber music masterworks by Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart, whereas in 2007 the ensemble is offering the most
outstanding trios and quartets by Ludwig van Beethoven.
