Pianist Beata Bilinska
and violinist Patrycja Piekutowska have emerged as a team of
youthful energy, extraordinary versatility, and a broad repertoire
with special strengths in modern classical music. Having both
collaborated extensively with Krzysztof Penderecki, they are
without doubt the leading interpreters of his Second Violin Sonata,
having worked closely with him on this massive score, one that
demands both exceptional sensitivity and extreme virtuosity.
Bilinska and Piekutowska teamed up under the DUX label for the 2004
CD, "Krzysztof Penderecki, Violin & Piano Works", which won a
Pizzicato Excellentia and Supersonic Award at the International
Phonographic Competition in Luxembourg, and then for their most
recent (2006) CD, "20th–Century Polish Music for Violin & Piano",
featuring works by Bacewicz, Lutoslawski and Szymanowski.
