Reception to follow
New Victory Theater 209 West 42nd Street (bet’n 7th & 8th Avenues), New York City Join us for the new collaboration of artist Maurice Sendak and author Tony Kushner of Brundibar and But the Giraffe. In Brundibar, a brother and sister join forces with some talking animals and a throng of children to outwit the sinister organ-grinder, Brundibar, and earn enough money to buy milk for their sick mother. Performed 55 times by the children of the Terezin concentration camp, this inspiring work proved to be a powerful protest against the Nazis and continues to provide the timeless message that even in the darkest times of history humankind is capable of producing art and beauty. The show is suitable for children aged 8 years and older.
Ticket proceeds to benefit the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
