One of the most unique Polish theatre companies, Legnica’s Modjeska Theatre is famed throughout Central Europe for its wild, intensely physical spectacles and productions staged in re-claimed, derelict, or otherwise run-down spaces. The recipient of numerous international awards, including the prestigious Yorick Award (twice) for Best Production of a Shakespearean Play in Poland, a country well known for its strong Shakespearean tradition, the Modjeska Theatre, in co-production with ARDEN 2, presents the American premiere of Jacek Glomb’s stunning interpretation of Shakespeare’s tragedy (in Polish, with accompanying English libretto).
