Ludwig van Beethoven Violin Sonata No. 5 in F Major, Spring Sonata Karol Szymanowski Violin Sonata in D Minor, Op.9 Witold Lutoslawski Subito (1992) Intermission Darius Milhaud Sonata for Harpsichord and Violin Jakub Ciupinski Emaus for Violin and Harpsichord (2008)* Eugene Ysaye Sonata No. 6 in E Major for Violin Solo * Emaus, written for Ms. Augustyn, takes its title from the name of the Polish religious holiday celebrated in Krakow during the Easter season in which special absolution is given to parishioners. Outside the church, however, a carnival atmosphere prevails. The main motif of the piece comes from the last three pitches of Milhaud’s Sonata for Violin and Harpsichord.
