Straight from the 2008 Slamdance Film Festival, which runs concurrently with the Sundance Film Festival and showcases the creative, low-budget works of emerging film talent, three prize-winning Polish shorts are presented by the Polish Cultural Institute at Galapagos Art Space. The three films, among 67 chosen by Slamdance from over 2000 submitted from 40 countries, are Three for the Taking, by Bartek Konopka, which, among many other awards, won the Grand Prix at the prestigious 22nd European Short Film Festival in Brest, France, Kooniklaster, by Mariko Saga, named Best Foreign Film at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival 2007, and Clinic, by Tomasz Wolski, one of the most honored short films in Poland in 2007.
