The Polish Cultural Institute New York and the Polish Book Institute will be promoting Polish literature at America's largest book fair, BookExpo America, held annually at the Javits Center in New York. In addition to our booth at the trade fair, Wilhelm Dichter and translator Madeline G. Levine will read from Dichter's two autobiographical novels published as one volume in English, God's Horse and The Atheists' School (Northwestern University Press, 2012), on one of the main convention stages and at a public event at the Polish Consulate General in New York.

While BEA is open primarily to book industry professionals, the goal of our participation is to bring more books by Polish authors to US bookstores by supporting literary translation from Polish into English, by facilitating the trade in literary rights between Poland and the US, and by helping to market books by Polish authors to US booksellers and consumers.

Poland's booth and Wilhelm Dichter are presented at BEA by the Polish Cultural Institute New York and the Polish Book Institute.

Wilhelm Dichter's public reading is organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Cultural Institute New York in collaboration with the Polish Book Institute and the Brooklyn Public Library, Greenpoint Branch.
