- Publication of the first comprehensive anthology of Jan Lechon's work in English: Evening on the Hudson, (ed. Beata Dorosz)

- New York City, Sunday, June 4, 2006, two academic sessions (in Polish) as part of the 64th PIASA Annual Meeting, Hunter College CUNY, 695 Park Avenue at 68th St., NYC, West Building, 6th Fl., Rm HW 615:

2:00 - 3:55 pm - (Part I) JAN LECHON: On the 50th Anniversary of His Death (1956-2006)

4:00 - 5:55 pm - (Part II) JAN LECHON: Reminiscences: Audio Visual Presentations

- Doylestown, PA, Saturday, June 10, 2006

10 am - unveiling of a commemorative bronze plaque inside the Basilica at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA.

Coordinators of the Lechon Jubilee events are Dr. Beata Dorosz, of the Institute for Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, and Maciej Patkowski, member of the Polish Writer's Association in New York.
