KRZYSZTOF GARBACZEWSKI

Krzysztof Garbaczewski (b. 1983) has a degree in directing from the Ludwik Solski State Drama School in Krakow. His productions have gathered numerous awards at theater festivals in Poland. As an assistant to acclaimed director Krystian Lupa, he worked on the productions of Zaratustra (2005) and Factory 2 (2008) in Krakow's National Stary Theatre. He has also directed productions based on texts by Elfriede Jelinek, Witold Gombrowicz, Homer and Fyodor Dostoevsky. Garbaczewski's most recent productions include The Death Star (Jerzy Szaniawski Theatre in Walbrzych, 2010), inspired by Star Wars, and The Sexual Life of Savages (Nowy Teatr in Warsaw, 2011) based on works of anthropologist Bronislaw Malinowski. Both plays were written by Marcin Cecko.
