Izabela Chlewinska, Magda Jedra and Maria Stoklosa are the first Polish dance artists-in-residency of the joint residency exchange program between the Art Stations Foundation in Poznan and Dance/UP - Dance/USA Philadelphia, which was inaugurated in June 2012. As part of this collaboration, Polish dancers are offered a customized residency in Philadelphia during the renowned 16th annual Philadelphia Live Arts & Philly Fringe Festival, which includes studio time, classes, dialogues with Philadelphia artists. They will present their work within the Philly Fringe program.

There will also be an opportunity to meet the artists during HiTea event at Dance/UP in Philadelphia.

The dancers will also be participating in the third meeting of a series of conversations hosted by Dance Advance of the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage: Curating dance: does it exist and what does it look like? Session Three: Conversation without walls: Danspace's work with writers, scholars, and thinkers. They will get to meet Judy Hussie-Taylor of Danspace project and hear firsthand some of the major trends in American thinking about curatorial work in dance.

Dance/UP - Dance USA/Philadelphia is a branch office of Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance. It provides advocacy, resources, services and collaborative opportunities for the dance community in the greater Philadelphia area.Its mission is to advocate for dance as an art form and vital component of our culture,increase the capabilities of dance artists and organizations, and enhance the publics awareness and support for dance.

PHL/Poland Dance Artists Exchange program is supported by Music and Dance Institute in Warsaw and the Polish Cultural Institute New York, in collaboration with the Gdansk Dance festival and the Zawirowania Dance Theatre Festival in Warsaw.
