Aftermath (Poklosie) is arguably Wladyslaw Pasikowski's most controversial production to date. The winner of Yad Vashem Chairman's Award during the Jerusalem Film Festival 2013 and the winner of Critics Prize at 2012 Gdynia Film Festival, Aftermath has divided the Polish public opinion and has been deemed by some anti-Polish and manipulative of historical truth.

Distributed in the US by Menemsha Films, the film is a story of two brothers in a peaceful Polish village who discover a dark secret. Having learned of the collective murder during WWII, Franek and Jozef Kalina are forced to revise their perception of their father, their entire family, and their sense of national history.

This film will try and tell that story through the lives of ordinary people who have nothing to do with politics, by showing their fundamental decency and uprightness, their baseness and lies. We are always given a choice in life. This film is about making that choice. - Wladyslaw Pasikowski on Aftermath
