Bec Zmiana Foundation and DIK Fagazine at the New York Art Book Fair

The Bec Zmiana Foundation (pronounced BENTS ZMYAH-nah, meaning Bang! Change!) , and DIK Fagazine are coming to the New York Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1, organized by Printed Matter, Inc.


The Bec Zmiana Foundation organizes art projects, exhibitions and public art installations, publishes books and magazines as well as promotes emerging culture in the creative fields of contemporary art, architecture, design, cultural activism and more. This year at the New York Art Book Fair the Bec Zmiana Foundation alongside their own publications will present books by the Wyspa Institute of Art, the Center for Architecture, the Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Open Art Projects, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Central Europe Comics Art, Raster, Recto Verso, 4000 Painters, The Warsaw Rising Museum, Lokator, The New Theatre, and others. A selection of records from the Warsaw labels Bolt Records and Lado ABC will be available for preview at the fair as well as a ceramics created by MAMSAM. DIK Fagazine will launch the ninth issue of the magazine entitled "CZECHOSLOVAKIA." The publication is a result of extensive archival research on Czechoslovak cultural history and presents a collection of queer images from the first half of the 20th century as well as imagery from the 1980s dance club scene, and finally documents and images of the deportation of Allen Ginsberg by Czechoslovak State Security.


Free and open to the public, the NY Art Book Fair is the world's premiere event for artists books, catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines presenting this year over 350 booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers.


Printed Matter, Inc. is the world's largest non-profit organization founded in 1976 by artists and art workers dedicated to fostering the appreciation, dissemination, and understanding of artists books and other artists publications in the landscape of contemporary art.


Bec Zmiana Foundation and DIK Fagazine's participation at the New York Art Book Fair is made possible by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw and Printed Matter, Inc. in collaboration with the Polish Cultural Institute New York.
