Pawel Grobelny designs furniture, street furniture, interiors, installations for public spaces and architectural art interventions. He is particularly interested in the theory of design, participating in scientific conferences, lecturing at universities, and writing for design magazines as well as curating design exhibitions.
He particularly enjoys site specific urban space projects. The most recent installation is the out-door-kino cinema adjacent to the Belgian Cultural Centre in Strombeek. This structure offers shelter and 24h access to the video installation in the gallery space. He created urban furniture in the Zhongshan Park in Shanghai, the Albertine Garden in Brussels, and also for the Cultural Centre in Grimbergen. Currently he is working on an award-winning design of outdoor furniture for the French town of Mont de Marsan and for Poznan's Chwaliszewo.
For the month of May in New York City, Grobelny will participate in the artistic residency at Residency Unlimited.
Pawel Grobelny will also exhibit his works at the third edition of the Lauch Pad program of the WantedDesignNYC festival of design, which will take place May 15 - 18, 2015 in New York City. The Lauch Pad program is a group of market-ready prototypes from 25 international design studios and independent designers.
