New York debut at the Battery Dance Festival

Polish Dance Theatre (Polski Teatr Tanca) from Poznan will be making their New York debut at the 34th Annual Battery Dance Festival. The Company will be performing It's Already Dusk (1994), Thousand Colors (2009), Need Me (2014).
The Polish Dance Theater/Poznan Ballet was established in 1973 on the initiative of the city government and local artists, and since then its creative repertoire, original dance language and contemporary form have attracted praise from audiences all over the world. For over 40 years The Polish Dance Theater, has worked to promote the art of dance and disseminate ballet culture throughout the Poland. In the last 20 years the theater added education to its spectrum of interests, organizing Contemporary Dance Workshops and the Contemporary Dance Biennale in 1994, as well as the International Festival of Dance Theatres in 2004.
The 34th Annual Battery Dance Festival will take place from August 15 through August 20, 2015 at Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park from 6:30pm to 8:30pm each evening. The Festival will host thirteen NYC-based dance companies alongside international dance companies from Poland, Norway, Colombia and India. The Battery Dance Festival (formerly Downtown Dance Festival) is NYC's longest running public dance Festival.
