Agata Siniarska and Marysia Zimpel
hosted by Mascher Space Co-op in Philadelphia
Friday, September 4, 2015 - Sunday, September 27, 2015
Polish choreographers Agata Siniarska and Marysia Zimpel will be in residence at Mascher Space Co-op in Philadelphia, an artist-run hub in a dynamic and unique arts scene. This continues an exchange launched in 2012 between Grazyna Kulczyks Art Stations Foundation Stary Browar in Poznan, and Dance/UP in Philadelphia.
Siniarska and Zimpel will spend three weeks from September 4-27 at Mascher Space Co-op in Philadelphia, during the city-wide FringeArts festival. On September 8 from 8-9:30pm, the exchange will begin with a show-and-tell introduction, where visiting and local artists will give short presentations on their practices and work, followed by a reception. This will open deep conversations that can be followed up by collaboration and studio sharing in the coming weeks. Siniarska and Zimpel will also participate in week-long workshops with David Zambrano and Nora Chipaumire, hosted by Mascher in partnership with Swarthmore College.
The Exchange is made possible by The Polish Cultural Institute New York, Art Stations Foundation by Grazyna Kulczyk (Poznan), Stary Browar (Poznan), the Institute of Music and Dance (Warsaw) and the Mascher Space Co-op in Philadelphia.
