LIGHT IN LYNCH
Wednesday, March 2, 2005
New York, NY
Christian Tomaszewski is an installation artist working primarily with narratives of space, design, architecture and its elements. Light in Lynch is a small scale installation closely related to his earlier project Plague, Vol.1/December, previously presented at Luxe gallery in his first solo exhibition. This new piece is a deadpan sculptural recreation of randomly chosen lamps and other light sources featured in several of the cinematic hits by David Lynch, presented in a lamp-shop display fashion. While playing the role of art objects, the pieces perform their more usual function of providing light for the room they occupy.
