Dorota Maslowska's first novel, published when she was 19, was a revelation in Poland, and her second, The Queen's Peacock, won the country's highest literary award, the NIKE. Theatrical adaptations of both books have been performed widely in Poland. The evening with Dorota Maslowska features a reading of her first theatrical play, A Couple of Poor, Polish-Speaking Romanians, directed by Stephen Willems of the MCC Theater.
