Polish cellist Rafal Jezierski has graduated from both the Juilliard and Manhattan Schools of Music, while receiving full scholarships. He was chosen to participate in Masteclasses of Mstislav Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma and Janos Starker. Currently, he is the co-principal cellist of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, where he regularly works with conductors such as Lorin Maazel and Zubin Mehta.
As a soloist, Rafal Jezierski has played with the Jeunesses Musicales Orchestra, the New Amsterdam Symphony, and the Manhattan School of Music Symphony. His chamber music experience includes concerts in some of he most important festivals including Spoleto in Italy, Music Festival of the Hamptons, Norfolk Festival and Festival del Mediterrani in Spain, and also performances with artists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Lukas Foss, Isidore Cohen, Eugene Drucker and Mikhail Kopelman.
His Debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall with the Paderewski Trio (7th of November 2005) was described as ¨exuberant and multifaceted¨ by Andrew Farach-Colton of The Strad magazine (February 2006). Rafal Jezierski has won the Lotos Club Foundation Prize in the Arts, 32nd Artists International Auditions, Eisenberg and Interlochen Arts Academy Concerto Competitions.
His solos can be heard on Erwin Schrotts´ ¨Recital¨ (Decca) and Tarik O´Reagans´ ¨Voices.¨ (Collegium Records).
Since 2007 Rafal Jezierski has been a visiting professor offering master classes at the Conservatorio Profesional de Musica in Valencia (SIM).
