Wojciech Kasperski (VOY-Czech kahs-PAIR-ski), working towards a degree in film directing at the Lodz Film School, has taken workshops with such directors as Agnieszka Holland and Jan Jakub Kolski, and was selected by the European Film Academy as one of the ten most talented young European directors (to participate in a weekend seminar with prominent filmmakers). The Refuge City and his previous film The Seeds have already been screened at festivals in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Berlin, London, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Beirut, Beijing, Taipei, and many others, winning numerous top awards, including a Sterling Award at the AFI Discovery Channel Silverdocs festival in Washington, DC for The Seeds.
