Patryk Czaplicki
Theatre
critic and English language translator. Co-originator and editor of
The Rehearsal. Irregular Theatre Journal. Performer, fringe theatre
actor and reciter. Award winner of all-Poland dramatic intepretation
contests. 4th year student at Drama and Theatre Arts Department at
the Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna (Masters studies).
As a runaway from State Acting and Puppet School, Patryk Czaplicki
decided to explore less conventional and obvious acting techniques
and focused on experimental and fringe theatre. He trained in physical
acting (Travel Agency Theatre, Poland), traditional techniques (commedia
dell’arte, master: Giovanni Pampiglione), and dance theatre
(maestra: Liliana Owoc- Pierzchala). Patryk Czaplicki considers extensive
physical presence on stage to be the key to focused ‘here and
now’ open and free acting.
