My music is an ambitious plan: I want to create my own, personal and recognizable musical language, in which electronic manipulation of recorded sound is going to enrich traditional acoustic instruments. The motivation of these experiments is to discover hidden and universal beauty.

Polish artist Jacaszek works in the territory carved out by Eastern European composers such as Henryk Mikolaj Górecki and Arvo Pärt. Fusing electronics and string instruments, his work is both evocative and emotional in the best possible way. In terms of contemporary artists he shares musical connections with the likes of Max Richter and Norwegians Deaf Center, who released his album Treny (Laments) in 2008 on their label Miasmah. This work was described by Boomkat "one of the most impressive, mystical and astonishing albums of the year."

In his latest album, Glimmer (Ghostly International, Nov 2011), Jacaszek joins award-winning musicians, Andrzej Wojciechowski (bass and soprano clarinets) and Ignacy Wisniewski (harpsichord), to merge the sounds of baroque chamber music with a unique mixture of electronics. Classical instruments are transformed electronically, combining fuzzed, blurred, lo-fi sound with the baroque harmonies and counterpoint. Joining Jacaszek in Montreal and New York is Portuguese visual artist and filmmaker Pedro Maia.
