Sanford Biggers
has prepared a project based on one of his previous installations. A
disco ball is suspended inside the well of the courtyard
of the
Centre
for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw. A second disco ball
hangs above the sundial in Café Baumgart. There will be a reception to
present both the new installation and Biggers’ book, The Afronomical
Way. The book, in the form of a box, is a collection of projects
designed especially for Warsaw but that are also continuations of
Biggers’ artistic way.
The
project was realized in cooperation with the Trust for Mutual
Understanding, Headlands Center for the Arts, US Embassy in Warsaw,
National Center for Culture, and the Polish Cultural Institute in New
York.
