Christian Tomaszewski

Christian Tomaszewski (b. 1971) lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He received his M.F.A. degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland in 1995. Previous selected exhibitions include The Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten in Marl (Germany; a joint project with Ilya Kabakov); Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice; the Center of Contemporary Art "Zamek Ujazdowski" in Warsaw; Jyvaskylan Taidemuseo Art Museum in Jyvaskyla (Finland); Exit Art and Luxe Gallery in New York; Leube Baustoffe Foundation in Salzburg (Germany);.and First Lódz Biennale of International Art in (Poland).
His new projects will be presented at the 2nd Biennale of Contemporary Art in Prague (Czech Republic), Kunstmuseum Chemnitz (Germany), Atlas Sztuki in Lodz (Poland) and Site-ations International (Ireland).
Awards include grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Chinati Foundation, the Polish Cultural Institute, and a residency at the American Academy in Rome.
